MAGfest

On the off-chance that there may be even one person out there who doesn't know already but will see this post, I'm going ahead and announcing here that I will be attending MAGfest in Alexandria, VA on New Year's. The festival runs from the 1st to the 4th of January, but I'm going to be leaving on the afternoon of the third. I'm really looking forward to it, mostly because I get to meet a bunch of guys that I regularly talk to on Skype but haven't met in person yet.

Other Channel Awesome talent that'll be attending:
- Rollo T, Hopewithinchaos/Sean (Epic Fail), and PawDugan (Full Circle and other series), three of the hosts of Transmission Awesome
- Coldguy of Spine Breakers and Foreign Delicacies
- LordKat of Until We Win
And don't forget our associates:
- Z/Little Miss Gamer of PBC Productions
- MasakoX of Team Four Star
- LittleKuriboh, creator of Yu-Gi-Oh! the Abridged Series
- The Nerd. You know the one I'm talking about.

If you can make it, please do. This is the first event I'll be attending since I started making videos and it would really mean a lot for there to be people there who actually know who I am. The TA guys, LordKat, and maybe Coldguy (not sure) and myself will have a panel during the event, so please turn up for that if you can!

Reaction Shots Episode 2

Suzumiya Haruhi's second season and Naruto chapter 467 (last week's).

Older episodes: School Rumble

What I remember most about this video is discovering a lot of editing techniques that really sped up the process and took care of some glitches I'd had in the past. Also TV Tropes now thinks I hang out there all the time because of this video. I have no idea why they'd think that. And don't ask how I know this, because it totally doesn't prove I hang out there at all. Oh be quiet and watch the video.

Older episodes: Reaction Shots 1

It first hit me while I was doing the Seven Sinful Series video that I was going to start having trouble putting out videos as often as I wanted to. I can't remember exactly how I came up with it, but Reaction Shots was something that I intended to help fill the gap between reviews - it entirely cuts out what is for me the most time-consuming aspect of making a video. Unfortunately I haven't taken advantage of the idea since the first episode came out. The video was a lot of fun to make since I got to be creative with a good number of props and, of course, costumes. As I was shooting it I started to get nervous that it wasn't going to turn out well, but my fears were quelled once I cut the footage down.

Completed June 25, 2009.

Older episodes: Seven Sinful Series

This was my first and so far only "Top X" formatted video, but it almost certainly won't be my last. I went through a lot of frustration getting this video done, mostly due to having to get my then-brand new camera set up, which in all delayed the video by about an entire month. To top things off even after I had all the footage on my computer, my editing software started crapping out on me until Paw was awesome enough to point me toward Sony Vegas. Since then editing has been a much less painful process, though it's still my least favorite part of making videos.

Completed May 25, 2009

Older episodes: Hana-Kimi

I think this is my favorite episode I've done so far. Everything just went so smoothly, despite the fact that a lot of what I was doing I was doing for the first time: speaking in front of a camera, using new editing software, and acting with other people. Some of what I did stuck, some didn't. I no longer shoot video with my laptop in front of me, for example. But I had an absolute blast shooting the segments with my roommates, who were really cool about helping even when the one segment with three of us on screen at once took about twenty attempts to finally get right.

Completed March 27, 2009.

Older episodes: Naruto

The Naruto episode was the first to get put on thatguywiththeglasses.com and it's probably the most popular video I've done...probably because of how popular the series is.

Completed March 1, 2009

Older episodes: Prince of Tennis 1 and 2.

Here are both the first and second Prince of Tennis videos I did. The first one features no video footage of myself as it was the first video I ever made. The first was completed February 8, 2009, and the second August 13, 2009.

Blog launch

For some time a few people have suggested to me that I set up a web site. I figured I should go ahead and at least set up a blog. I'm honestly really not sure what I'll do with it, but hopefully it'll make me more available to everyone who watches my videos. So, watch for future posts.
